The rectus abdominis (the "six-pack" muscle) flexes your spine and helps stabilize your core.

Crunch
2–3 sets of 12–20 reps
Lift only until your shoulder blades leave the floor.
Avoid pulling on your neck.
Reverse Crunch
2–3 sets of 10–15 reps
Roll your pelvis toward your ribs.
Focus on curling the tailbone off the floor rather than swinging your legs.
Dead Bug
2–3 sets of 8–12 per side
Excellent for building core stability while engaging the rectus abdominis.
Heel Taps
15–20 taps per side
Maintain a slight crunch throughout.
Tips for Better Results
Exhale during the hardest part of each repetition to maximize abdominal activation.
Move slowly, especially on the lowering phase (2–3 seconds).
Focus on posterior pelvic tilt during crunches and reverse crunches to keep the rectus abdominis engaged.
Train the abs 2–3 times per week, allowing at least 48 hours of recovery between challenging sessions.
Visible definition depends on both muscle development and body-fat levels, so nutrition plays a significant role alongside training.
